Meet Barbara Barkley

Faith Evermore is the work of a lifetime shaped by music, teaching, and faith.

I began singing in church at a young age, performing duets and trios, and learning to play piano by ear before eventually becoming a church pianist. By age twelve, I was also playing the Hammond organ, continuing a lifelong passion for worship music.

At seventeen, I wrote my first church song. Since then, I’ve written over 200 songs, with ten featured on the Faith Evermore recording.

Music has always gone hand in hand with my love for writing. From childhood story exchanges on long school bus rides to formal education, storytelling has remained an important part of my life.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in English and Secondary Education from the College of the Ozarks and later completed my master’s degree in Interpersonal and Organizational Communication from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

I spent 25 years teaching music, English, and speech in Arkansas public schools before retiring in 2015.

Today, I continue to create through music, writing, and my podcast, sharing messages of faith and encouragement.

“In everything we have won more than a victory because of Christ who loves us. I am sure that nothing can separate us from God’s love—not life or death, not angels or spirits, not the present or the future, and not powers above or powers below. Nothing in all creation can separate us from God’s love for us in Christ Jesus our Lord!"

(Holy Bible, Romans 8:37-39, Contemporary English Version)

“May your constant love be with us, Lord, as we put our hope in you” (Holy Bible, Psalm 33:22, Today’s English Version).
